Marvel is having a pretty busy year, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hitting theaters last month, followed by Spider-Man: Homecoming in July and lastly Thor: Ragnarok this fall.
Next year brings us something a little different and by different I mean Black Panther. Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) directs Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan in what looks to be yet another bold move for Marvel, as they branch out even further.
I’m digging the futuristic vibes and the endless characters (Andy Serkis, Martin Freeman) and I really hope they manage to make Black Panther somewhat of a sleeper hit.
It’s dropping in February, which is usually a slower month, but it looks unique and different in a way that just might play strong as a piece of counter-marketing towards the usual horror films and date-night movies.
