If you like sequels, you’re sure going to love going to the movie theater in 2015. Studios have recently set release dates for Mad Max: Fury Road (finally) and Insidious: Chapter 3.
Box Office Mojo has reported that an official release date of May 15th, 2015 has been set by Warner Bros. for the long delayed Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy as the new Mad Max. Director George Miller, who directed the original three Mad Max films, shot the latest sequel in Africa in 2012.
Why the long delay? According to reports, the film has been stuck in post-production limbo and has gone under extensive reshoots. The film co-stars Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
It’s obvious that Insidious: Chapter 3 will be quickly on its way as Insidious: Chapter 2 made a record-setting $41 million this past September. Before the film has even started production, Focus Features, which recently absorbed FilmDistrict, has set an official release date of April 3rd, 2015 for Insidious: Chapter 3.
Plot details are currently unknown. All is known about the project so far is that Leigh Whannell will be writing the script and James Wan, who directed the first two films, will not be back to direct because he’s apparently finished with the horror genre and he’s currently directing Fast & Furious 7 for Universal. Jason Blum will be producing the third chapter under his Blumhouse Productions banner with Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity).
