International Trailer For ‘Captain Phillips’ Starring Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks

The international trailer for Paul Greengrass’ new thriller Captain Phillips has arrived. Oscar-winner Tom Hanks stars in the titular role as a man whose ship is hijacked by Somali pirates. The international trailer proves to be just as intense as the two domestic trailers. Check out the trailer below.

The film is written by Billy Ray (Breach and State of Play), based on Richard Phillip’s memoir A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days At Sea. The film tells the true story of Captain Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks) and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years. Phillips spent three days as a hostage of the Somali pirates before being rescued by Navy SEALs.

Captain Phillips will be premiere at the New York Film Festival this fall before opening in theaters nationwide on October 11th.  What do you think of the trailer?
