Roland Emmerich‘s Independence Day is considered by most one of the better disaster movies and Emmerich’s quick shot to blockbuster fame.
The original film starred Will Smith as he went toe-to-toe with an alien force that attacks humans on a global scale and now Emmerich will be coming back with a sequel, which has been confirmed to be titled Independence Day: Resurgence.
It’s worth noting that Smith will not be returning, but the film will star Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and a few others.
I’ve posted the official title reveal up above and we’ll be sharing the trailer and photos whenever they drop between now and the film’s release next summer.
