Francis Lawrence To Direct All Hunger Games Films From Here On Out

Gary Ross is either the smartest man alive or the dumbest. He directed the mega box office hit The Hunger Games and yet he passed on the opportunity to return for the sequel, which is obnoxiously titled The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Lionsgate picked up I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence to takeover and it now looks like he’ll also be directing the two-part Mockingjay finale. Bad Ass Digest confirms it and I’m not sure what to think of it just yet.

Perhaps we should wait until Catching Fire comes out before we completely judge Lawrence, but based on his previous work I don’t think he’ll have any problems continuing a series that I’ve already stopped caring about.

The Hunger Games was a mess and I don’t see the sequels getting any better.

What do you think?
