First Official Trailer For ‘August: Osage County’

A film that is bound for some Oscar contention later this year is August: Osage County. Scheduled for a release this November, the adaptation of Tracy LettsPulitzer Prize-winning 2007 play is already generating buzz. To help build the buzz even more, the Weinstein Company just released the first official trailer for the film. Check it out below.

The ensemble dramedy follows the women of the Weston family, whose lives have splintered in many directions until their alcoholic father’s disappearance brings them back to their childhood home and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.

This film seems to have everything going for it. It’s not only an adaptation of a Pulitzer Prize-winning play, but it is also directed by John Wells, the director behind the impressive drama The Company Men. Oh, did I also mention the film’s incredible cast? The cast includes Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Juliette Lewis, Chris Cooper, Benedict Cumberpatch, Abigail Breslin, Dermot Mulroney, and Sam Shepard.

August: Osage County will be arriving in theaters on November 8th, 2013.
