First Look At Tom Cruise In ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’

Tom Cruise‘s Mission: Impossible franchise has been absolutely killing it at the box office for both the star and the franchise, allowing us more Cruise action, yet never bothering to settle for anything less than spectacular.

Meanwhile, Cruise’s Jack Reacher franchise hasn’t managed to stir up as much fuss, despite Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie being selected for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation based on his excellent work with Reacher.

McQuarrie is currently working on a follow-up to M:I 5 with Cruise, which means director Edward Zwick has stepped up to direct the sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

Today, we’ve got our first look at the film, which co-stars Cobie Smulders.

I think it looks great. It highlights the hand-to-hand combat well, which is what helped make the first film hit so much harder than a traditional M:I film. I really enjoyed McQuarrie’s first film (read my review right here) and I’m hoping that Zwick and Cruise can replicate that success in the sequel, which hits theaters a bit later this year.
