Melissa McCarthy, who first broke out in the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids, is becoming more successful each year. Redbox revealed last month that Identity Thief and The Heat were the top two rented movies of the year, which means many people love her.
This year, the biggest comedy that McCarthy stars in is Tammy, which her husband Ben Falcone (Air Marshall Jon from Bridesmaids) directed. The first image from the film has arrived online and it’s pictured above, courtesy of USA Today.
In the film, McCarthy stars as the titular character Tammy, who’s a small town woman whose life falls apart after losing her job and catching her husband in bed with another woman. With no car and no cash, she hits the road with her alcoholic grandmother (Susan Sarandon).
Tammy will arrive in theaters on July 2nd. Allison Janney, Gary Cole, Mark Duplass, Toni Collette, Nat Faxon, Dan Aykroyd and Kathy Bates also star in the film. Are you looking forward to this?
