I wasn’t the biggest fan of Jurassic World. Mostly because it was a soul-less carbon-copy of the original film, but also because Colin Trevorrow just isn’t Steven Spielberg.
Luckily for us, Trevorrow opted out of the sequel and Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible) stepped in, which means the film will at the very least have some visual flare and interesting shots.
In all honesty, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom looks like a re-tooling of The Lost World, which isn’t exactly a slam (that is my favorite JP film), but it doesn’t seem to be offering up much of anything new.
I am excited to see JA Bayona give us a darker and scarier Jurassic Park film, plus Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard seem to have good chemistry, but I am still worried that this sequel is going to feel a little too familiar.
Here’s to Jurassic World III bringing back Sam Neill to help find Howard and Pratt’s eventual son.
