Legendary and Universal Pictures have officially announced a December 18th, 2015 release date for Warcraft, the upcoming film adaptation of the hugely popular video game series World of Warcraft. Moon and Source Code director Duncan Jones will direct the film from a screenplay by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond and The Seventh Son). Casting is apparently underway as Deadline reports that Colin Farrell, Paula Patton, Paul Dano, Anton Yelchin, Travis Fimmel, and Anson Mount are circling lead roles in the film but they haven’t been confirmed as of yet.

Warcraft is bound to be Duncan Jones’ largest film yet in terms of the scale and budget (which has been reportedly calculated to a total of over $100 million). Production is expected to begin early next year. Make sure to check back for more updates as they come our way.
