Ruben Fleischer‘s 30 Minutes or Less wasn’t a perfect film, but I thought it was pretty damn funny when it came out last summer. The film follows the story of a pizza man getting a bomb strapped to his chest. Jesse Eisenberg played the bomb-wielding driver that was forced by Danny McBride‘s character to rob a bank before the whole thing blows up in his face.
Aziz Ansari co-starred along with Nick Swardson.
The weird thing about the film was that the cast and crew members denied knowing anything about the true story in which the film was based upon. They later revealed acknowledgement, but still have acted pretty shady about the whole situation up until this point.
What makes this story news is that there is a dramatic version of this same story currently in talks, which will be titled Collar Bomb.
Deadline reports that Collar Bomb will focus more on an FBI agent and a journalist’s story on the events as they unfolded.
I’m not sure if I could watch the film having already seen 30 Minutes or Less and having that fantastic film instilled in my brain. It might be kind of hard to take the situation serious.
