The sequel to the 2011 surprise hit comedy Horrible Bosses has lost its director. Seth Gordon, who directed the first film, was set to return to the director’s chair this fall for Horrible Bosses 2 but unexpectedly dropped out of the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with his upcoming ABC comedy series The Goldbergs and several other projects including a remake of the 1983 film WarGames, a narrative version of his 2007 film The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, and the thriller One Night on the Hudson starring Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis.

New Line Cinema is now searching for a new director for the sequel. Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis are expected to return. The plan remains to begin production in the fall for a 2014 release. Who do you think should direct the Horrible Bosses sequel?
