Confirmed: No Director’s Cut For The Dark Knight Rises Blu-Ray

I knew it was too good to be true! The Playlist has confirmed that there is no director’s cut to be featured on the upcoming Blu-ray of Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises.

Many were speculating, because several crew members discussed longer scenes featuring Tom Hardy‘s Bane, which led us to believe of a possibly filmed backstory making its way in front our eyes. There’s no denying that some of this footage was shot, but Nolan is known for leaving the cutting room floor stuff on the cutting room floor.

It’s a shame, because Bane was the most interesting character in the film and yet there still felt like much left to be explored. I’m not all too shocked about this confirmation, but I am disappointed, if only slightly.

The Dark Knight Rises has been rumored for a Blu-ray and DVD release on December 4th, 2012.
