EON, the company behind the Bond franchise has revealed some details about the next film starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, including the title, which will be Skyfall. At a press conference to announce the name, they’ve also revealed a few more interesting tidbits, like the villain.
Javier Bardem is officially signed on to be the nemesis for Bond in this film, and of course his co-stars from the last two films will also be appearing, like Judi Dench, Naomi Harris, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes. The official synopsis has also been revealed:
“Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Director Sam Mendes also had a few things to say, including that this film will be a standalone and will have nothing to do with the previous two films. Also, they’ll be shooting in Shanghai, Istanbul, and Scotland this go around. The film has started shooting for a November 9, 2012 release in the US.
