English hottie Alice Eve, who most people will recognize if they’ve seen She’s Out of My League (and she was pretty funny in The Big Nothing with Simon Pegg), is the latest addition to the growing cast for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel, although it’s not yet confirmed who she will play exactly. I won’t waste time guessing, we’ll just let you know when it’s confirmed.
Peter Weller and Benicio Del Toro will be joining most of the returning cast from the first Star Trek by Abrams, although neither one has a solid character confirmation either. As for Del Toro, the studio put out press saying he would be playing an updated version of a classic Trek character, which most fans assume will be a Klingon, although speculation again runs rampant trying to guess who.
I found Abrams’ first film to be the most entertaining use of the Star Trek franchise, which was always something I could never get into, no matter how hard I tried. On the same token, I’m not frothing at the mouth for this sequel, but I expect it will be fun, and with Alice Eve in the cast, they’re headed in the right direction.
